Title: Merchandise Managers

James and Marisa Oppenheimer are excited to be involved with SFCFC as our Merchandise Managers. In SFCFC’s inaugural season, James was the Director of Player Personnel and ran gameday operations.

James is the Executive Director of the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society, an open admission animal shelter that provides a safe haven for over 8,000 animals per year. From 2016-2022, James was the Director of Business Operations at Dakota Alliance Soccer Club. He managed the business side of the club through COVID, and helped it grow from a small soccer club into a stable non-profit. James coached at DASC from 2012-2022 and coached teams that won the 2019 & 2022 USYS National Presidents Cup Championship, and also led the DASC 2006 girls to the 2022 USYS National Championship Semi-Finals. James coached high school soccer at SF Lincoln and SF Christian, and was an assistant coach at Augustana University in 2015 when the team won the NSIC Tournament Championship. James has twice been named SDYSA Coach of the Year (2015 & 2022) and was honored with the Spirit of South Dakota Youth Soccer Award in 2019.

Marisa works as a Physician Recruiter at Solutions by Sanford, a team that fills locum tenen openings throughout the Sanford Health Enterprise. Marisa has over 20 years of Healthcare Administration experience, with prior roles at Noran Neurological Clinic, Avera Health, Wellmark, and Orthopedic Institute. Marisa’s level of attention to detail and efficient organization have made her a valuable member of each team she has been part of. Marisa’s soccer experience involves sitting through countless games that her kids have played in or her husband coached. She does have coaching experience with the U5 Jellybeans team that their daughter Gemma played on.

James and Marisa are both proud MSU Moorhead Dragon Alumni. They spend most of their spare time attending soccer and band activities for their teenagers, Henry and Gemma.

SFCFC is a unique organization that provides support and role models for young female athletes. James and Marisa are excited to help the organization continue to move forward and take the next step toward having a women’s professional sports franchise in Sioux Falls.
