Taylor Machacek

Title: Coach

Biography

Taylor is a Sioux Falls native who grew up playing soccer in our community. Great Plains, Dakota Gold and then Dakota Alliance all provided Taylor with the opportunity to enhance her game. Taylor was also selected to play on Nebraska and South Dakota’s ODP teams.

Taylor played collegiate soccer for Augustana University as a goalkeeper where she studied to become a teacher. She has spent the last 5 years as a special education teacher and also coaches soccer for Jefferson High School. Taylor is currently completing her master’s degree in applied behavior analysis and will graduate in May 2024.

Taylor loves being on the Sioux Falls City FC technical staff because she is a lifelong learner. While Taylor brings practical real-life experiences to her coaching roles, she also strives to learn more. Being part of SFCFC is empowering for Taylor and pushes her to do things she normally wouldn’t. She finds the environment of SFCFC to be inspirational and it gives her ideas to take back to her high school team to empower them as well. Learning from the athletes and the coaches and standing side by side with the athletes as they promote the causes they believe in is what Taylor looks forward to each year.
