Emily Palmer
Biography
Emily Palmer was born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She is a teacher and has taught several subject areas, including Spanish, English, reading, physical education/health in both middle and high school.
Emily joins the SFCFC with a lifelong love of sports. She participated in basketball, volleyball, and track in high school, and spent her collegiate volleyball career at South Dakota State University, where she served as co-captain for two years. While playing days are behind her, Emily and her family continue to watch a variety of sports year round. Competitive spirit does not come in short supply in this house!
She began her coaching career while still in high school, coaching her first junior olympic team at age 17. Through college she continued to coach at the club level, as well as one season of middle school ball. Following graduation, she became the head coach at Lincoln High School, where she lead the program for five years. 18 years later, she is still coaching and is also a co-founder and co-director of ClubCENTRAL Volleyball, where they focus on fostering the multi-sport athlete and keeping volleyball accessible.
Emily, her wife Jill, their daughter Campbell, and dog Chipper are excited to have a new team to support and join The City!
